It is so easy to complain. About gas prices...about how hot it is...about little things...about big things. Don't believe me? Take this test - spend one entire day trying NOT to complain and see what happens. Think about everything you say before you say it. See how long you last.
I tried this - playing golf last week with a friend. And let me tell you - it is hard not to complain.
But you know what God says about it? That from the tongue can come words of life - or words of death. That the very words I speak have the power to build someone up or tear them down. Want to know what else the Bible says about complaining? Click here.
One of God's values is to do everything without complaining. Really - who WANTS to be around people who complain? It's not fun, for anybody. Why does God care about it? Because I think He knows that complaining gets in the way - of His vision for a lost and dying world. Of the progression of His Kingdom on earth.
And of people seeing themselves as they really are - children of God, made for a purpose, crafted by the Master's hands for works of amazing service.
When we complain, not only does it short-circuit others around us in their pursuit of God - we don't become who we were fully intended to be.
