I had some vacation time this summer. That was good. Had some time away from the pulpit, thanks to Clark Rogers and my very own wife, Susan. That was good too. Enjoyed the time away, got refreshed, got re-focused. And got ready.
Ready for a year where we see many people come to know Christ. Ready for a year where we see many people grow deep in their walk with Him. Ready for a year where this city is challenged and changed for the Kingdom.
Those two things are what I am most passionate about. Seeing people who have been disconnected from Christ come into a life-changing relationship with Him. And seeing those who know Him GROW beyond whatever limits they thought were there. The reality is that there are people who are living, and dying, without Jesus Christ. People who desperately need Him. Who desperately need a place where they can come and be found by Him.
Connection Church can be that kind of place.
Our church is going to look different, feel different, be different in three months than it is now. It should - it's the church, a growing, changing organism. That happens when the Giver of Life turns Himself loose in a community. I, for one, can't wait.
Are you ready? I hope so. I sure am.
