Great Sunday

What a great Sunday morning at Connection Church! A quick shout-out to the volunteers who make our church happen - you folks are incredible! Last Sunday was amazingly smooth, from setup to teardown. The lobby looks great, our volunteer teams that staff it are doing great work greeting guests and making people feel at home.

The service was great - our musicians did a phenomenal job on all the music- if you missed the BarlowGirl tune at the beginning, let me just say that I can't even describe how good it was. Just had to be there.

KidzConnection was rocking, as usual - Camp Connection has been phenomenal in the Theater, and kids have been engaged creatively and challenged on their level. Our little ones have been poured into with the love of Jesus and well-cared for. You folks that serve there amaze me every week. Way to go!

The best way to see our church grow will be life-on-life, relationships, real people involved with real people. that's the way it always has been. That's the way it is now. Changes in culture don't affect this. By and large a new person will come to church because they were brought on the arm of a friend.

But a church like ours (i.e. mobile, no permanent buildings or signs) needs to do some creative things to get the word out that are less personal, more strategic. Hopefully you have already seen a bit of this around the area. We have a 3-pronged strategy right now for getting the word out:
1. Signage - real estate signs advertising Connection Church
2. Doorhangers - last week about 20 volunteers distributed over 3800 doorhangers to local neighborhoods!!
3. Magnetic Bumperstickers - these are coming this Sunday!

And yes, all of these look the same - bright orange! The hope is that people will see one, two, or three of these things and we will stick in their minds. And that when you talk to people in your neighborhoods, they will say "hey, I saw your signs, bumper stickers, etc etc", which will lead to a great conversation about the church, and ultimately Christ. That's the goal, after all, right?

Just wanted you to see how a little thing like an invite card plays an important role in our strategy to reach our community. So keep up the good work!
